Paintiing For Art Critique(:

1.       DESCRIBE: What do you see?

it's a man laying on a bed, dead with a gun in his hand & blood on his chest area.

2.        ANALYZE:  How is the work composed (use art terms! Ex: value, shape, line, texture, color)
Lot's of value, shape, lines, TEXTURE LIKE CRAZY, some colors but it's not rainbowy.

3.        INTERPRET:  What message does the artwork communicate to you? (What is going on?  What was the artist trying to tell the world?  What is the overall mood?  Is it making fun?  Is it serious?)
The guy killed himself. To not kill yourself because it's stupid & ends tragic. The overall mood is sad. It's not making fun. It's SERIOUS.

4.        JUDGE:  What do you think of this work?  Is it successful?  (The “couch test” question):
It's a very good piece of artwork.

Comparison !!!

Pic #1
1) I see a beastly like thing eating a human
2) It's got details on it like with the goreyness & everything.
3) The beast thingy looks mad
4) I'm thinking poor person :(

It has texture, value, lightness & darkness in it

  • a beast is eating a human
  • I honestly don't know
  • it's serious
SOOO it MUST be ROMANTICISM.
  • It shows strong emotion.
  • 2 people in background
  • violence
Pic #2
1) It's a man in a tub full of his blood & hes dead holding a piece of paper.
2) It's creepy & gorey
3) He's dead with his eyes open o.O
4) again, poor person

this is ROMANTICISM

animoto slideshow (: neoclassism vs. romantism

Me & Chase Thompson did this Animoto project together. It was hard at first but when we got more detailed instructions we got it finally. It was over neoclasscism versing romantism OBVIOUSLY & how there are differences between those two. me & Chase picked different paintings filling with those elements individually or both of them combined.

Left brain vs. Right brain

Left BrainRight Brain

You are more right-brained than left-brained. The right side of your brain controls the left side of your body. In addition to being known as right-brained, you are also known as a creative thinker who uses feeling and intuition to gather information. You retain this information through the use of images and patterns. You are able to visualize the "whole" picture first, and then work backwards to put the pieces together to create the "whole" picture. Your thought process can appear quite illogical and meandering. The problem-solving techniques that you use involve free association, which is often very innovative and creative. The routes taken to arrive at your conclusions are completely opposite to what a left-brained person would be accustomed. You probably find it easy to express yourself using art, dance, or music. Some occupations usually held by a right-brained person are forest ranger, athlete, beautician, actor/actress, craftsman, and artist.
